CAIR-Chicago recently took its MYLS 2024 program to Universal School, where students from various Muslim backgrounds across Chicagoland converged. The initiative aimed to foster an understanding of diverse perspectives and the importance of embracing differences within their communities. Through interactive sessions, participants were guided to explore their identities as Muslim Americans while addressing prevalent stereotypes. Moreover, the program provided insight into social movements within the Muslim community, empowering students to emerge as future leaders.

The curriculum focused on analyzing the root causes of social conflicts and devising proactive solutions. Additionally, students honed their leadership and communication skills under the guidance of Muslim leaders to effect positive change in their communities. Through hands-on projects, participants were encouraged to apply their newfound skills, ultimately becoming more engaged and constructive citizens.

MYLS has worked to equip students with a deeper understanding of their identities as Muslim Americans, fortified by the appreciation of diversity and the tools to challenge stereotypes. With a commitment to proactive solutions and community engagement, these empowered students are poised to lead with compassion, understanding, and a steadfast dedication to effecting positive change in their communities and beyond.
