Dear Friends,
I strongly believe in the mission, vision and leadership of the American Islamic College (AIC). The AIC is a unique institution in the Chicagoland area, and indeed in the United States. It is one of the nation’s first and only Islamic colleges. The college is housed in a historic landmark building in a strategic location minutes from the lake.
Under the new leadership of Dr. Ali Yurtsever, and with the help of seasoned administrators like Dina Rehab, the college’s tremendous potential is finally being realized. Remodeling is complete, new classes are being offered, and accreditation is on the way. The success of this project will help educate generations of Americans, help defeat Islamophobia, and build bridges between communities.
It is for these reasons, and many more, that I am convinced that AIC is one of the most important initiatives for the Muslim community in the US, a conviction that led me to accept joining the advisory board of the AIC. I am also happy to act as the keynote speaker for the American Islamic College’s fundraiser, this Friday, and sincerely hope you will join.
