The MYLS initiative passionately empowers Muslim American youth (grades 8-12) through proactive activism, aiming to guide their communities from the margin to the mainstream. It seeks to foster a healthy Muslim American identity that seamlessly integrates into pluralistic American society while staying true to one's faith values.
CAIR-Chicago Sponsors Official Launch of Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium
About 100 high school students from across the Chicagoland area attended the first official Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium (MYLS) sponsored by CAIR-Chicago this April 5-6, 2008. During the two-day event, students attended workshops, presentations, and worked together to draft proposals for future projects they hope will bring about positive changes in their communities.
100 Muslim Students Join MYLS Official Launch
In a much anticipated official launch, the new MYLS initiative welcomes 100 select students from 5 Muslim schools scattered around the Chicagoland area for a two full-day program on the weekend of April 5 and 6 at the Mosque Foundation Community Center
