WGN-TV: Islamic organizations sue State Department for failing to evacuate Americans

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), alongside the Law Office of Maria Kari, has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. State Department for failing to evacuate American citizens, legal residents, and their family members trapped under relentless Israeli attacks in Gaza.

Plaintiff Mariam El Rayes, a U.S. citizen, shared her emotional plea: "I'm here today because I need the government of the United States to help my family and all the U.S. citizens and their family to be safe and get out from this unfortunate war." Mariam’s parents, brother, and sister remain displaced at Al-Mawasi refugee tent camp after Israeli airstrikes destroyed their home, while the State Department has failed to secure their evacuation.
