Simra Shareef is an intern for the Government Affairs division at CAIR-Chicago. She is a rising junior at Loyola University Chicago, studying Philosophy with a minor in Law & Politics on the pre-law track. Although she has yet to decide what type of law she wishes to specialize in, she hopes to play a pivotal role in uplifting Muslim voices in the Chicagoland area and beyond. She believes in the importance of Muslim civic engagement, voter activism, and grassroots mobilization to promote tolerance and fight discrimination. Simra values community involvement, having previously worked at the Office of Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi as a constituent services intern. She is also a trained barista who enjoys frequenting coffee shops, trying new restaurants, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family in her free time.
