CAIR-Chicago Holds Community Forum on Comprehensive Immigration Reform at Mosque Foundation

CAIR-Chicago Government Relations Coordinator Sadiya Ahmed and Staff Attorney Bitta Mostofi held a community briefing on comprehensive immigration reform, along with the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and Mosque Foundation on Friday, April 27, 2007 at the Mosque Foundation in Bridgeview. Attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions about proposed changes in the STRIVE Act of 2007. The session was held to raise awareness in the American-Muslim community about immigration reform and what to expect in the future. The STRIVE Act of 2007 was introduced in the House of Representatives by Congressman Luis Gutierrez (IL-D) mid-March and is a point of heavy debate in the immigration reform movement.
